Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal 2014-2015
Aligarh, November 13: The Dean, Students Welfare (DSW), Aligarh Muslim University has recently announced the award of Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal 2014-2015 to meritorious students with good character and conduct and involvement in extra curricular activities and social services.
With the announcement, AMU students have been asked to apply for receiving the medal on a prescribed proforma up to November 19.
The DSW Professor Anis Ismail has clearly stated that the medal would be given to one student picked from various applicants with a consistently good academic career and conduct.
The pre-requisites for applying include that the applicant must have obtained at least one degree from AMU through a regular course of study after passing the Intermediate or Diploma examinations.
Students of MBBS and BUMS, undergoing internship will be considered for the award while Phd and Mphill students will be eligible to apply if they have obtained masters degree in a preceding academic session for which the medal is to be awarded.
However candidates, who have passed examinations with supplementary or backlog and students with gaps in their studies in between two courses will not be eligible for the award. The notice also makes clear that the students undergoing disciplinary actions will not be considered for the award.
The notice further states that the evaluation of academic performance will be based on all examinations passed from high school to masters degree.
The applicants are supposed to attach attested photocopy of identity cards; marksheets of all examinations; attested copies, proofs and certificates of various awards and medals; attested copies of involvement in social services, extracurricular activities and character certificates and updated curriculum-vitae/Bio-data with details of examinations passed.
The notice also states that the applications complete in all respect, duly signed (with data and seal) and forwarded by the concerned Chairman/Principal and Dean/Co-ordinator should reach the DSW office by November 19, 2015.
