Dr Arshad Amin receives ‘Young Scientist Award’

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University’s ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellow, Dr Arshad Amin recently received the ‘Young Scientist Award’ in Geography in a National Conference on ‘Land, Water and Renewable Energy for Sustainable Development’, held at St John’s College, Agra.

Dr Arshad presented a research paper on ‘Landscape Dynamics: Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis (A Case Study of Srinagar City) at the Conference. His study is based on latest Remote Sensing and GIS Technology focusing on the contemporary issues of urban expansion. Besides throwing light on trends and patterns of urban growth, Dr Arshad’s study assesses the future projection.

He presented his paper in the academic event attended by distinguished scientists and researchers from all over the country.

A young Geography and Geospatial technology researcher, Dr Arshad is presently working on his post-doctoral research under the supervision of Professor Shahab Fazal. He has also authored several research papers and books of national and global repute.
