Domino’s adds Windows 10 Mobile support to app: OS release date still confusing Lumia owners
While Windows 10 Mobile release date is still sometime away, Domino’s Pizza has added the latest mobile OS support for its app. Till now the Windows mobile users have only Domino’s Pizza app for Windows Phone 8 and 8.1. With the new support, the users of a few Lumia handsets running Windows Mobile 10 will also be able to use the app.
Windows 10 seems to be sprinting ahead to be a massive success. Microsoft is aiming to get as many as 1 billion Windows 10 installs on PCs and laptops across the world before the end of the year 2015.
Nonetheless the company is not able to show the same sort of enthusiasm towards Windows 10 Mobile OS. The tech giant enjoys only three percent market share despite spending huge sums on acquiring Nokia’s phone business and developing a top of the line operating system. Nonetheless Windows 10 Mobile seems to be getting ahead though slowly. Reports suggest that Windows 10 Mobile that has been released for merely two devices till now has been installed on as many as 1 million devices.
While the company may be struggling on mobile front, the Redmond based tech giant recently revealed that Windows 10 was running on 200 million devices across the world, showing that adoption of the new operating system goes much better than it did in the case of Windows 7 or 8. But it’s very important to note that this 200 million figure concerns devices, and not PCs, as Microsoft is also offering Windows 10 for Xbox One consoles and smartphones. On the other hand when it comes to smartphone segment such success is eluding the company and may take years to emulate it. Latest data suggest that Microsoft registered 1 million handsets running Windows 10 Mobile, which is kind of impressive, given the fact that the OS isn’t yet broadly available. The new mobile operating system comes pre-installed on just a few devices including Lumia 950, 950 XL, and 550.
