David Bowie’s wife Iman model is an amazing person, was biggest support for him
David Bowie’s death has shocked the entire world. His death at 69 years of age has been unbearable for the fans of music star who remained on the top for more than four decades. Such successes seem parts of fairytales and not part of men and women with real flesh and bones.
The man who was born in South London in the year 1947 lorded over the rock and roll music for the last five decades. Initial struggle was tough for him like any other star, nonetheless when the success started coming his way in the late sixties, he never allowed to leave his side.
While announcing his death his family released a short message saying, “David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of griefâ€. He was suffering from liver cancer and had some heart troubles too.
The whole Hollywood seems to have been shocked by his sudden death. While condoling his death Mick Jagger said, “David was always an inspiration to me and a true original. He was wonderfully shameless in his work. We had so many good times together… He was my friend. I will never forget him.”
Elton John says he is shocked and cannot believe the news. “I am still in shock. Never saw it coming. … My deepest condolences to Iman and the family. An amazing life. An amazing career”, said Elton John.
Yusuf Islam or Cat Stevens in a statement said, “He has left us for another world, beyond the darkness of this present one vividly so depicted in the shadows of his last video. I truly pray he’s welcomed to the light by his Maker in that great today, which has no tomorrow.”
In the meantime his wife of 23 years Iman is simply shocked. They had great chemistry together. Bowie, who died at the age of 69 after a private 18-month battle with cancer, is widely quoted as saying: “You would think that a rock star being married to a supermodel would be one of the greatest things in the world. It is.â€
It must be said that from outset theirs was an unlikely marriage. But the two enjoyed one of the most enduring marriages in the celebrity world, wed in 1992 and divided their time between London and New York. Their daughter was born in 2000. “My marriage is exactly as fabulous as you all would think,†Iman said on The Nate Berkus Show in 2010. “He’s fun, he’s a really very curious man, and so I really learn a lot from him.â€
Iman is among the top of the line models and still enjoys great acceptability throughout the world. While still at university, Iman was discovered by American photographer Peter Beard, and subsequently moved to the United States to begin a modeling career. Her first modeling assignment was for Vogue a year later in 1976. She soon landed some of the most prestigious magazine covers, establishing herself as a supermodel. With her long neck, tall stature, slender figure, fine features, copper-toned skin, and exotic accent, Iman was an instant success in the fashion world, though she herself insists that her looks are merely or typically Somali. She became a muse for many prominent designers, including Halston, Gianni Versace, Calvin Klein, Issey Miyake and Donna Karan.
