Dallas Cowboys’ Greg Hardy suspended for 10 games by NFL for beating girlfriend

Dallas Cowboys defensive Greg Hardy has been given really very tough punishment by NFL. He has been suspended for as many as ten games and he will also not receive the payment for the duration of his ban. It is needless to say that no one actually thought that the punishment will be that tough.

In the meantime, people close to Greg Hardy claim that he will be appealing against the punitive action immediately.

If the ban against him remains it will take a very long time before he actually joins his teammates in playing against any other team. To be true, the first game that he will be able to play will be against Carolina Panthers on Thanksgiving. Nonetheless he hasn’t been banned from taking part in off-season work including training camp and the preseason.Greg Hardy

Reports suggest that the suspension will begin Sept. 5. Jerry Jones, Cowboy boss said, “This suspension is something that we anticipated prior to Greg’s signing, and we respect the Commissioner’s ruling…Our organization understands the very serious nature of this matter. We will use our resources — work closely with Greg and with the league — to ensure a positive outcome.”

The decision comes after two month-long investigation. The NFL while announcing the suspension said it was for “conduct detrimental to the league” stemming from a May 2014 incident that brought domestic violence charges against Hardy. NFL investigators after thorough inquiry concluded that Hardy used physical force against his ex-girlfriend, Nicole Holder, in at least four instances.
