Copa America 2015 quarterfinals: Peru vs Bolivia en vivo, live score, TV schedule, stream etc
This is going to be a very important match in the ongoing Copa America 2015 soccer tournament. Peru is all set to take on Bolivia and the outcome is going to be very important for the tournament itself.
The winner of the Peru vs Bolivia match will enter the semi-finals. Chile has already made its way into the Semi-finals of the biggest soccer tournament in this part of the world after beating the defending champions Uruguay.
It must be kept in mind that Uruguay are not just the defending champions, they have won the largest number of Copa America titles thus far.
Though one of the two teams may be able to win a ticket to semifinals, not many are expecting them to win the title itself. Both these teams have failed to win this prestigious tournament in the last 40 years.
The two teams, nonetheless are capable to create upset in semifinal stage itself. By the way any side that can reach quarterfinal stage cannot be written off. Peru is currently ranked at 61st place in FIFA rankings and the team has played well to survive the “group of death.” Peru had just one loss, and that was against Brazil. Peru managed to secure a draw against Colombia and a victory over Venezuela.
They have several stars of their own who have contributed in their excellent game thus far. Peru must thanks goalkeeper Pedro Gallese for taking his team to the knockout round. Gallese has conceded just two goals in three games. But Peru’s offense has failed to shine, scoring just two total goals in three games.
There is no denying the fact that despite all these positives Christian Cueva and Claudio Pizarro are the only players to score for Peru in this tournament. Team captain Carlos Lobat?n leads a great midfield alongside Juan Manuel Vargas, but it’s time for Peru’s offense to get going. It is notable that Paolo Guerrero has yet to score a single goal. If Peru succeeds in beating Bolivia, they will play the winner of the Chile vs. Uruguay game. Peru won the Copa America in 1975 when they defeated Colombia in the finals.
The other team in this quarterfinal match has much less to showcase. Bolivia is ranked No. 89 in the world and they are the highest ranked team in all of CONMEBOL. If Bolivia can move beyond Group A (which they’ve done) and win three knockout round games, it would be their best performance in Copa America history. Bolivia last clinched the title in 1963 when they were the host nation. That year they defeated Paraguay in the finals. Bolivia finished second in Group A behind only Chile. They defeated Ecuador 3-2 to knock them out of the tournament. Mexico also did not reach the second round. It is interesting to note that Bolivia has only scored three goals but they’ve allowed seven so far. In their last game they lost to Chile 5-0.
There are several people who can create trouble for any team, more so for Peru. Team captain Ronald Raldes, forward Marcelo Martins Moreno and middle fielder Martin Smedberg-Dalence have scored the three goals for Bolivia. Romel will be the starting goalkeeper against Peru.
