Cinderella 2015: Movie may become massive box office success
There is no denying the fact that not many films have attracted the sort of attention that has come to Disney’s 1950 animated movie Cinderella. Every filmmaker dreams to reach the height achieved by the film, but it rarely comes their way.
Many people think that this is very normal story that has actually caught the imagination of not just an entire generation, but many generations over the decade.
While talking about the Cinderella attraction Ann Trousdale, co-author of ’Cinderella Was a Wuss’: A Young Girl’s Responses to Feminist and Patriarchal Folktales says “My view is the reason it’s so appealing is that on a deeper, psychological level it’s a story about discovering and having others discover in the firm one’s intrinsic valueâ€.
Many people are of the opinion that the Cinderella has caught the imagination due to the fact that its focus seems to be on themes of self-worth. Cinderella stories portray a character (male or female, note) whose value, though initially diminished, is discovered and allowed to flourish.
Though for an overwhelming large number of people Disney’s 1950 animated movie remains the original Cinderella. The enthusiasm is high as the live-action version of the same story hitting theaters this weekend promises to be a trip down memory lane for many who grew up with the pumpkin carriage, the stroke of midnight and the glass slipper.
