Christmas full moon 2015: after 2015, it will happen in 2034
This year we are going to enjoy a full moon on Christmas. If you are 38 years old or younger, this means you had never an opportunity to enjoy the spectacle. It is due to the fact that there never occurred a Full moon Christmas since 1977. So this is almost 39 years.
And if you miss the opportunity tomorrow, you will have to wait for another 19 years, for, the next Christmas full moon will not occur before the year 1934.
This is a very rare occasion and sky lovers are not going to miss the opportunity. Instead many people have already said that they will remain awake till late night so they don’t really miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.
A report by the Weather.com says that the full moon will peak at 4:11 a.m. Christmas day. In a blog post, Nasa’s Nancy Neal Jones, from the Goddard Space Flight Centre in Maryland said: ‘As you gaze up at the Christmas moon, take note that Nasa has a spacecraft currently orbiting Earth’s moon.’ Nasa’s John Keller added: ‘As we look at the moon on such an occasion, it’s worth remembering that the moon is more than just a celestial neighbour.
