This seems to have been a well-thought out gimmick by the developers. The “Call of Duty” franchise has finally introduced a female soldier and the whole world seems to be talking about it.

One of the most popular games in the world, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will have a female soldier doing everything that male soldiers do and fight male opponents. They will be doing underwater fighting and attacking zombies the same way the male soldiers do in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

This is the first time that the company has introduced a female soldier in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. While armies across the world have been introducing female soldiers in combat role in almost everything and they have shown their usefulness and success everywhere, the game has woken up to the reality only now.Call of Duty Black Ops 3 female protagonist 1

A report while talking about the development says, “The release this week of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” marks a gender milestone for the Activision-published blockbuster series, one of the video game industry’s few household names. A female character is, for the first time, playable in the game’s core story…Abby Brammell, the actress whose voice and likeness is used for the starring female role, recalls the day the game’s developers told her she was making “Call of Duty” history. “I was shocked,” she says”.

Treyarch seems to be eager to reach out to female gaming fans in ever larger number by introducing a female soldier on the battle ground. Michael Pachter, who works with Wedbush Securities says, “We probably used to have, on hardcore games, an audience maybe 20 years ago that was 5% women. It’s probably 25% now…I think Activision is smart to try and appeal to that.”
