Without doubt there is no equal of it in the industry. Box office collection report shows Chennai Express beating 3 Idiots. But Dhoom 3 will beat Express

Right now Chennai Express is still having as high an occupancy rate in multiplexes as 40 percent a month after its launch in theatres. This is a huge achievement for any film of any scale and there are reasons to believe that the Shah Rukh Khan film will continue to run in theatres for at least several weeks now.

Though several films have been launched in theatres following the launch of Chennai Express, but no film has been able to dent the popularity of Chennai Express.

Several films including Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobara, Madras Café and then Satyagraha were launched with top actors including Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan and John Abraham in lead roles, but all of them have proved to be flops at the box office.

John Abraham’s film Madras Café despite coming with great story besides film being a great package, has failed to fare well at the box office. This seems to be disappointing for not just John Abraham and the producers but also for film lovers who fail to understand why viewers don’t really back such meaningful films.

In the meantime Shah Rukh Khan film Chennai Express despite beign written off by film critics of all hues initially has gone on to become a huge hit. So finally Shah Rukh Khan can claim with certainty that he has taken control of his lost kingdom once again. Yes the king of Bollywood seems to have made a great comeback and has finally taken control of his kingdom after proving beyond doubt that he is the boss. No, I am not talking about Akshay Kumar’s forthcoming film Boss that is going to be released in October.

There is no doubt that the film’s collection that has gone above around Rs 410 crore is an achievement that is unparalleled in the Indian cinema. Many people were claiming that notwithstanding the fact that Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express has broken 3 Idiot’s box Office record in India, but it may not break its international record. And many really believed the claim. But now after breaking box office collection records in India and abroad, Aamir Khan can rest easy at the moment. A report in the Box Office Capsule sais that Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express has collected Rs 410 crore at the box office in India and Abroad. Its India collection has crossed Rs 222 crore.

In the meantime Chennai Express director Rohit Shetty is over the moon. He says that this size of success comes only onces in a lifetime. “For me, every day has been exciting ever since it opened well on the first day, then came the fastest Rs.100 crore, then Rs.150 and so on. But the biggest surprise was it crossing the Rs. 200 crore mark, and the fact that it was still running strongly in its fourth week. So there is something about the film which has connected with the audience. I knew that the film would do well, but not in this manner. I am really feeling good” said Shetty in an interview. He is among the most successful directors in the industry and with Chennai Express he has delivered again.
