The two smart-phones come from great manufactures and have solid foundations and history behind them. BlackBerry Z10 and Apple iPhone 5 will compete fiercely in United States in the days to come

BlackBerry Z10 is being launched at blazing speed in many markets across the world. Though it has lost its third position in the US market but BlackBerry is sure to get back its slot in the most important smart-phone market in the world with the introduction of its latest handset and operating system. Its QWERTY handset Q10 will be introduced in the market in March or April and then, it will get more people attracted to it, particularly from people who form the core of its fan base.

Despite many people who have questioned the timing of BlackBerry 10 operating system and BBZ10 smart-phone launch by Research in Motion calling it copycat of other smart-phones, people at large are appreciating it. No smart-phone comes suddenly with futuristic attributes. This is a long process and takes time. Research in Motion has introduced a great product and should be appreciated. To be true, the BlackBerry Z10 is not just as good as Apple’s flagship handset iPhone 5, it also improves over the highest selling handset in more ways than one.

Its display quality is far better than anything that Apple’s iPhone 5 offers and it comes with NFC that iPhone still lacks. The latest BlackBerry phone is wonderful with a 4.2-inch LCD display that touts a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels at 356-ppi. It is when the new iPhone has only a 4-inch Retina display that packs a screen resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels at 326-ppi. Needless to say, the different is outstanding. The BlackBerry phone has a clear edge over iPhone in many areas like display size, resolution and, of course, pixel density. Going by the size and weight, the Z10 is taller at 5.1 inches, wider at 2.6 inches and thicker at .35 inches. The device weighs at 4.8 oz. In this regard, iPhone is winner with a body that has the dimensions of 4.9 x 2.3 x .30 inches. It is also lighter than BlackBerry phone with .30 oz.

Both the handsets compare well when it comes to power. Under the hood, the BlackBerry phone is loaded with a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. It is supported by a whopping 2GB RAM and a powerful graphical processor. The latest version of iPhone, at the same time, has Apple’s A6 chipset and 1GB RAM. When it comes to internal memory, the Z10 loads 16GB chip, plus a microSD slot for expanding storage up to 64GB. In case of iPhone, it drops microSD slot, but it is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models. When it comes to camera, both the devices sport 8MP rear cameras. The new iPhone has Apple’s innovative iSight sensor for nice pics and video. You can use both the gadgets for taking video at 1080p quality. As far as the front camera is concerned, the Z10 has a 2MP camera, while the iPhone has a 1.2MP camera.

To be true, but the handsets run on very refined operating system. The new iPhone came to market with iOS 6 out of the box. Apple has just updated the firmware with iOS 6.1 that has some additional features. Meanwhile, the Z10 has come to market as one of the first handsets to run BlackBerry 10 OS, the latest version to the mobile OS. As connectivity options, the handsets have all advanced features. They include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and more. It is nice to learn that BlackBerry has integrated an NFC chip as well with its new phone. The device can thus compete well with the other premium phones of market.

In many markets the BlackBery Z10 is already available and in the rest of the world it will be launched pretty soon. In the U.S., carriers like AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile are to sell the BlackBerry phone. BlackBerry has made deals with all these major service providers in the country to avail its new handset. But it will be introduced in the US next month. BlackBerry has priced its new phone at $199. It is the same price for iPhone 5’s basic model that also packs 16GB internal memory. The 32GB model comes for $299 and the premium 64GB model is up for $399. Remember, the BlackBerry Z10 also packs a microSD slot for expanding memory up to 64GB using external memory sticks. So the handsets compare well and both handsets come with impeccable qualities.
