All the three are great handsets and BlackBerry Q10 vs HTC One vs BlackBerry Z10 specs showdown makes interesting reading

The high-end phone market is witnessing a tough competition. Every leading tech company has launched at least one advanced phone in recent months. Two of the notable phones of the recent line are BlackBerry’s BlackBerry 10 OS-based Z10 and Q10. Well, they are full-touchscreen and touchscreen-QWERTY keypad combo models. Brawling competition from a large variety of Android phones, however, makes things not much easier for BlackBerry.

HTC’s new flagship handset the One is a huge Android rival to the BlackBerrys in many important markets. The HTC One has grabbed immense attention from markets because of its high quality display, stunning design, path-breaking Sense 5 user interface and finally a trendsetting 4MP UltraPixel rear camera. Here we are making a comparison of these three phones; BlackBerry Z10, BlackBerry Q10 and HTC One. Enjoy our specs smack-down below.

Display: The HTC One carriers a 4.7-inch Super LCD3 display screen that integrates a stunning 1080p resolution at a whopping 469-ppi. The multitouch screen is resistant against scratches thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass 2. Moving to the BlackBerry Z10, the device is found with a small 4.2-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels at 355-ppi. It is when the keypad touchscreen combo BlackBerry Q10 sports a tinier 3.1-inch Super AMOLED with 720 x 720 pixels at 328-ppi.

Power: The HTC flagship draws juice from a super performance 1.7GHz quad core processor that is encasing a Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 chip. It is backed by 2GB RAM and an Adreno 320 graphical card. At the same time, the Z10 packs a nice 1.5GHz Krait CPU with a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chip, 2GB RAM and an Adreno 225 GPU. BlackBerry’s other flagship phone mounts a 1.5GHz Cortex A9 CPU with a TI OMAP 4470 chip inside. It features a PowerVR SGX544 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

Storage: Storage capacities of most of the new handsets are huge. The One, for example, is to roll out in two massive memory versions; 32GB and 64GB. Unluckily, it lacks microSD slot, thus preventing you from using additional memory than the integrally allowed. Meanwhile, both the BlackBerry phones have landed in stores with 16GB internal memory, but they have microSD support for adding up to 64GB in addition.

Camera: It is the most outstanding thing with the HTC One. It is up with an innovative and trendsetting 4MP Ultrapixel camera with all advanced camera features under the hood. You have autofocus, LED flash, check quality, geo-tagging and more with the camera that features 1/3-inch sensor size and 2µm pixel size. Well, it can take video at 1080p with HDR, stereo round rec., check quality and more. The front camera is a 2.1MP unit that can also capture 1080p.

It is when BlackBerry has integrated the same 8MP cameras with both its brand new phones. Along with all basic features such as autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging and 1080p video recording, these devices are indeed good options for users who love photography. For video chatting, they sport 720p 2MP front facing cameras as well.

Software: The HTC One is slated for arrival with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean under the cover. Soon after its availability, you can expect an OS update to the device with the most recent Android 4.2.2 JB. Its BlackBerry competitors are, as you may know, running on the company’s brand new BlackBerry 10, through which BlackBerry, formerly known as RIM, is trying to come back to the mobile market.

Price and availability: HTC has just begun hawking its premium Android model in many markets after an unfortunate delay. Its SIM free model’s price falls something around $800. The BlackBerry Z10, which has been doing rounds in market for a couple of months, is also priced almost the same. Meanwhile, the Q10 comes for around $700 and it is set for sooner delivery in many markets.

The author’s bias shows through with this “Review”. “Small” and “Tiny” is the way he describes the z10 and Q10 screens…..really. I like the phone to b portable and fit in my pocket. The Iphone is smaller (it seemed to be alright for a few people) . No mention of the innovative features in the BB10 Os. Balance would be nice…
