BlackBerry BBM for iOS, Android release date seems to have come very close and you should expect it in Sept.
BlackBerry BBM for iOS and Android is all set to land on your mobile handsets as early as September. The Canadian smartphone company that has been struggling to survive amidst other smartphone manufacturers’ success stories, has announced to launch the app as early as September, though the company hasn’t exactly mentioned a release date for the app.
The announcement for the app was met with jaw dropping silence as this was the best feature of the BlackBerry handsets and if this app was readily available to other platforms people wouldn’t actually feel the need to opt for Blackberry handset as they seem to be at least a generation older than Android and iOS handsets. Other than Android and Apple handsets even handsets running on Windows Phone 8 operating system seem to be a lot improved compared to BlackBerry handsets.
The interest in BlackBerry’s BBM remains high across the world. Both its full touch screen handsets and QWERTY handsets have not got the sort of response the Canadian company was expecting. Even after huge price cuts there are not many takers for its handsets. meanwhile BlackBerry’s BBM instant messaging app for Android and iOS won’t come on June 27 as it was earlier rumored. Official sources now indicate that it would come before this summer. However, some Android handsets may come before that with the BBM pre-installed. By the way, the official BBM for Android is linked with a late-September 2013 release date.
People who have been the well-wishers of the Ontario based company believe that BBM for Android and iOS may make BlackBerry service popular, but may not contribute to increased sales of its handsets. Sometime back, Sunil Lalvani, managing director of BlackBerry India, had admitted that we could expect BBM for Android within the next couple of months. In fact, BlackBerry earlier said that the app would roll out early summer, but now it seems that it will come late-September only. “The service is coming to Android this summer. But summer as per North America, where it remains till September,” said Lalvani. Now, BlackBerry has officially admitted that BBM for Android and iOS would come by late September. Even though, the BlackBerry executive didn’t announce the exact release date of the app.
In the meantime people are impatiently awaiting the arrival of BlackBerry BBM to their Android and iOS handsets. “BlackBerry hasn’t been particularly forthcoming about a specific release date although summer is now very much underway, so the service could appear inside Google Play and Apple’s App Store very soon,” writes Know Your Mobile. BBM, as everyone knows, is one of the most unerring USPs of BlackBerry over the years. Even if its software platforms failed to attract customers repeatedly, its IM service BBM has been a big success. It has been largely awaited by Android and iOS users to get the BBM for their platforms also. BBM can be a big competitor to WhatsApp as well as iMessage when it comes to Google Play Store and iOS App Store. It is a nice experience to lead instant messaging on the BlackBerry IM app that can be a better addition to the service on Android and iOS devices now. For BBM fans this is going to be interesting, but for BlackBerry it may not be as much enticing.
