BJP candidate Sanjay elected Chairman MC Poanta

Nahan: Although BJP has succeeded in capturing the coveted post of Chairman in Paonta Sahib municipal council but have faced a setback in overall performance of the ruling party BJP in outcomes of urban local bodies election. In fact BJP succeeded in taking the advantage of factionalism of Congress in winning the post of Chairman as two Congress rivals Pardeep Khurna (1110) and Devinder Singh “Rippa” were also in the fray for the same post against the official candidate Rajinder Sharma (2146) of Congress so BJP candidate Sanjay Singhal (3803) was declare elected as the chairman of the municipal council. However Congress candidate Tejpal Singh (6088) in a one sided contest defeated Meena Kaushal (4769), wife of Chairman Agriculture marketing committee Sanjay Kaushal who is close associate of CPS Sukh Ram Chaudhary. Though Shiv Sena supported Madhu Kar Dogri lost the election for the post of Chairman but succeeding in getting the second place by obtaining 2238 votes, however his wife Renu Dogri was declare elected as a councilor from the ward No: 9. Out of total 11 ward the ruling political party only captured 4 wards, whereas same number was captured by congress, however 3 independents including the wife of Madhukar Dogri were declare elected in the election. Congress unity could create a trouble for BJP in next assembly election in the state as the outcomes clearly says that congress have strong cadre as compare to BJP but factionalism of congress gives BJP to enjoy the political power.  On the other hand In Rajgarh Nagar Panchayat Journalist Dinesh Arya of congress and Dinesh Kumar of BJP captured the coveted post of Chairman and vice chairman respectively. Out of total seven wards in Nagar BJP captured four wards whereas congress obtained three seats in the council. In the leadership of BJP leader and Chairman cooperative bank Chander Mohan Thakur BJP performed well in PRI’s poll in Rajgarh area.
