Belmont Stakes 2015 results: Valued at $20 million American Pharoah wins Triple Crown

NVONews had claimed yesterday that American Pharoah will probably win the first Triple Crown in as many as 38 years. And thankfully the horse went on to do pretty the same.

But to be true, it was not just NVONews that had predicted the honor to go to the American Pharoah, many analysts who have seen the horse run on the racing tracks were making pretty the same claim. But as the chance of such a win is pretty low, given the presence of other top horses in the race, others were claiming that it was simply not possible.

There is no denying the fact that it is a great honor and one of the sporting world’s rarest feats.horse race

Trained by Bob Baffert, one of the best horse trainers in the world at the moment, American Pharoah has looked supremely impressive for the last many years. Though the last Triple Crown was won some 38 years ago in the year 1978, there have been 12 triple crowns, including the latest one till date.

American Crown is among the most valued horses in the US right now and the horse’s owner Ahmed Zayat claimed that a sale deal valued American Pharoah at $20 million but that the Triple Crown victory could make that “substantially more.”

After winning this great race, jockey Victor Espinoza said, “Wow! Wow!…I can only tell you it just an amazing thing.”

One of the most impressive horses in the race, though with a very short tail, defeated as many as seven rivals in the grueling 1½-mile race, leading wire-to-wire and covering the distance in 2 minutes, 26.65 seconds to end the longest stretch without a Triple Crown champion in history.

The trainer Bob Baffert was overcome with emotion when American Crown made the history, “I still can’t believe it happened…I couldn’t be any happier”. An ESPN report says, “American Pharoah is the 12th horse and first since Affirmed in 1978 to win three races on different tracks at varying distances over a five-week span. He won the Derby by one length May 2, romped to a seven-length victory in the rainy Preakness two weeks later and demolished his rivals Saturday. He is the fourth Triple Crown winner to go wire-to-wire in the Preakness and the Belmont”.
