Update: LD Chandimal and Jayawardene battering Aussies hopes
After 46 overs Sri Lanka 222/5, DPMD Jayawardene 68 and LD Chandimal 29

The match seems to be slipping Australia’s hands right now. To be true, I shouldn’t talk about this match, rather about the series. To be true the biggest challenge for Australian side was to bowl Sri Lankan team out for a low score and then score that it pretty fast. Someone concluded that it Lanka scored 200 runs by batting in their first inning, the other team will have to score that run within around 30 overs.

Given that precarious state of Australian batting right now, we cannot really expect the former top team of the sport to really manage that feat also given the fact that Lankans have a rather very strong bowling battery with them. Malinga alone can destroy a top class batting line up, but even if they are able to tame, him there are a couple of very impressive spin bowlers who can stop easy flow of runs in the Australian side and even can take wickets with close intervals.

Sri Lankan opening pair failed again. Perera disappointed not just his fans, but also others who were looking forward to see a good show from him. Dilshan scored some 34 runs, but rather slowly. He had to be slow as the wickets continue to tumble on the other end. Sangakkara on the other hand too flopped yet again and he was sent back to pavilion for just 3 runs. He faced 11 balls and scored 3 runs. But then Thirimanne and Jayawardene joined hand to take the Lankans out of the crisis. While Thirimanne scored 57 runs, Jayawardene is playing at 47 runs after scoring 47 runs
