Apple iPhone 6S release date in September with better specs: UBS says sales will break all records

Apple is all set to introduce its newest smartphone in the market in September. This is almost a done deal and there are reports that the company will see its sales zoom through the roof with the launch of new version.

To be true, unlike Samsung’s Galaxy S6, Cupertino based Apple hasn’t experienced any cooling off period following the launch of its highest ever selling iPhone versions including iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Right now there is speculation going on about the eventual arrival of the new iPhone versions in the market next month. While long-term Apple analysts are sure that the company is going to launch new version(s) in September, they are unsure about its nomenclature. They are sort of unsure if the new handset will be called an iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 or for that matter iPhone 7 Plus.

A latest report by investment firm UBS says that Apple is on track to ship a record 49 million iPhones in the current September quarter.

The latest data, according to the UBS is based on company’s Evidence Lab iPhone Monitor. It actually measures search volumes around the world, and was revealed in a new research note published on Thursday. A copy of the note by analyst Steven Milunovich was given to media.

This may be surprising but USB executives believe that Apple’s iPhone is yet to touch the peak. Steven Milunovich is of the opinion that though iPhone growth is going to slow down for the anticipated “iPhone 6s” upgrade, but he doesn’t believe that the platform has yet peaked.

In the meantime while talking to Macworld Milunovich says that “iPhone sales will grow another 6 percent to 245 million units. He noted that most — 73 percent — of the current install base has not yet upgraded to the larger displays of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus”.
