Another milestone: UGC HRDC of AMU concludes 137th ‘Orientation Programme’
Aligarh: The UGC Human Resource Development Centre of Aligarh Muslim University recently concluded its 137th â€˜Orientation Programmeâ€™ for newly appointed University and College teachers.
At least 52 course participants from Assam, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh were enrolled to participate in four-week programme.
Distributing certificates of participation, Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Direcror, UGC HRDC, AMU said that these Orientation Programmes are important for inculcating the right values in the teachers.
He added that the higher education system in India will come out of its mediocrity by the creation of an ethical academic atmosphere in its system.
While wishing a bright future to the participants, Prof Kidwai urged them to practice the lessons of tolerance, equality and brotherhood learnt at the HRDC of the university.
Facilitating the programme, Dr Faiza Abbasi, Asst Professor, UGC HRDC, informed that the course was replete with educational and sensitization visits.
She further informed that during a visit to the â€˜Orphanage of Mother Teresaâ€™ in Aligarh, the participants have donated a voluntary collection of Rs 5500.
On behalf of all the participants, Dr Anamika Das from Assam and Dr Sunominee Subhash from Maharashtra gave their feedback opinion. They said that they were impressed by the high academic standards maintained by AMU in all the departments. The participants were particularly impressed by the facilities at the Maulana Azad Library.
The participants have also thanked UGC HRDC, AMU for exceptional hospitality.
