Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich have reached to more gadgets in November. There is a notable growth in the count of users for these two fresh Android versions in the month, the November’s Android distribution statistics reveals. The Jelly Bean and ICS have grown up at the expense of Gingerbread, which is still the dominant Android version. The survey is taken based on the number of devices accessed to Google Play in the last 15 days of the month.

Android Distribution Statistics Findings
As of now, Android 4.1 runs on 5.9 percent of the gadgets. It is twice up from 2.7 percent of October. It is when the most recent Android 4.2 Jelly Bean has arrived to 0.8 percent of the devices. The Ice Cream Sandwich has grown up to 25.5 percent. It is 1.7 percent higher than the count in the previous month. See, both the platforms have eaten into the market share of Gingerbread, which still has a whopping 50.8 percent.

Jelly Bean (4.1) could go into more devices, because it is a time vendors are busily upgrading their latest products to the firmware. ICS has scaled up its market share as it is the common choice of most budget and entry-level Android phones for upgrade. The freshest 4.2 version has attained a decent market share thanks to the recent releases of three Nexus devices – LG Nexus 4, Asus Nexus 7 and Samsung Nexus 10 – at once.

ICS to go down before Jelly Bean
As per analysts, the ICS is shortly to lose its position to the 4.1 Jelly Bean. More devices are getting upgraded to the JB. Recently, we listened to the news that HTC, Motorola, Samsung and Sony are soon to bring Jelly Bean to their existing ICS handsets. The line of devices includes popular hits products like Samsung Galaxy SIII, HTC One X+, Motorola Droid RAZR HD and RAZR Maxx HD and a set of Sony Xperia handsets.

“It’s unlikely for this number to drop below 20 percent any time soon, as the majority of low- and mid-range devices are now rocking this Android version of the OS out of the box,” says GSM Arena.

See, the current dominant player Gingerbread is slowly losing sheen. Though possessing the big piece of the pie at the moment, the 2.3 version has lost many customers either to Jelly Bean or Ice Cream Sandwich.  “It’s still taking the largest piece of the pie at 50.6 percent, but that’s 3.3 percent points lower than last month and 5.2 percent points lower than it was in September,” says GSM Arena.

Android Jelly Bean 4.1 Update
A row of the-top-of-the-line of Android phones from different developers are about to get Jelly Bean. Samsung, HTC, Motorola and Sony are the top four companies in the Android market now. They feature many stunning handsets like Galaxy S III, One X, RAZR HD and RAZR Maxx HD and Xperia T, Xperia TX and more. Most of these handsets are officially given the date and time for the firmware update.

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Update
Google has brought its new line of Nexus devices with this firmware out of the box. Along with the new Nexus phone and tablets, the 4.2 JB was announced for the previous Nexus phone the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. More than that, no other handset has been announced to get the latest Android version from Google.

By the way, there is a talk that Google is also working on the next major update possibly called Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Hence, the 4.2 update may not appear on the high-end models of the market. Yet, Google has to finally say about this. It has not yet said whether the 4.2 version would come to any other devices than its new wave of Nexus products.
