Amy’s Kitchen issues voluntary recall for listeria: Report

Listeria seems to be the reason behind massive recall by Amy’s Kitchen. There are reports that the company is recalling as many as 70,000 cases of products from many parts of the country.

though there are no known cases of illness caused by consuming the products by Amy’s Kitchen, nonetheless it is recalling products due to abundant caution.

Caramel-ListeriaIn a press release the company said that the latest round of recall is based on a notice from one of Amy’s organic spinach suppliers that Amy’s may have received organic spinach with the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Its press release said that though its consumption may affect frail people and children, healthy people may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache etc.

There is no denying the fact that listeria is a dreadful thought. It has been known to cause fevers, nausea, abdominal pain, headaches and diarrhea, as well as possible miscarriages or stillbirths.
