AMU’s Deptt of Psychology to organize national seminar on Spirituality and Yoga
ALIGARH: The Department of Psychology, Aligarh Muslim University is organizing a National Seminar on Spirituality and Yoga from November 7 to 8, 2015. Mr Abhijit Mukherjee, Member of Parliament (MP), Jangipur, West Bengal and Ambassador Ashok Sajjanhar, former secretary, National Foundation for Communal Harmony will be the Chief Guests in the Inaugural and Valedictory functions respectively.
Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah (Retd.), Vice Chancellor, AMU will preside over the inaugural session whereas the valedictory session will be presided over by the Pro Vice Chancellor Brig. S Ahmad Ali (Retd.). Professor (Hafiz) M. Ilyas Khan, Chairman, Department of Psychology is the Organizing Secretary of the seminar.
Professor Akbar Hussain, Director of the Seminar informed that a number of eminent scholars will participate in the Seminar with around 75 delegates from all over India presenting their theoretical and empirical findings. He said that there will be paper presentations by the Faculty members, Post Doctoral fellows, Research Scholars and Post graduate students of various disciplines such as Psychology, Sanskrit, Education, History, Physical Education and Psychiatry with the themes revolving around Spirituality and Yoga. Professor Hussain also said that the students of MA Psychology, AMU will also display posters related to the said theme.
He informed that the accepted papers include podium presentations which are divided into 12 sessions.
