AMU releases telephone numbers for students facing ragging in the campus

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University Proctor Professor Mohd Mohsin Khan, in pursuance of the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the guidelines of the UGC, has urged all the concerned authorities of AMU to take preventive measures in order to stop the incidents of ragging in the campus.

AMU Proctor has urged all Deans of the Faculties and Student’s Welfare, Provosts of Halls of Residence and NRSC, Principals of Colleges, Polytechnics, Schools, Chairmen of Departments of Studies and Coordinators of AMU to form ‘Anti-Ragging Committees/ Anti-Ragging Squad’ consisting of teachers of senior students to keep extra vigilance over the act. He has further urged the Dean, Student’s Welfare to step up anti ragging mechanism through various media. Professor Khan urged on to hold workshops and seminars related to the issue.

He informed that the students who suffer from ragging related incidents may access the Anti Ragging Committees or contact on 983700614 or helpline.antirag@amu.ac.in . He further informed that the distressed students may also use the National Anti-Ragging Helpline 1800-180-5522 or email at helpline@antiragging.in
