AMU news today: CBI to investigate false degree case of Shahrukh Shamshad, Ex-Registrar
ALIGARH: The Anti Corruption Branch of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Ghaziabad has registered a case against Group Captain Shahrukh Shamshad, Ex-Registrar of the Aligarh Muslim University. The University has received a letter from the Head of the Anti-Corruption Branch to this effect.
Shahrukh Shamshad had obtained employment in the Aligarh Muslim University as Registrar allegedly on the basis of a false MBA degree by misusing application for eligible candidates for the post of Registrar. He submitted an MBA marks sheet for the year 2010-2011 issued by Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (EILM) University, Sikkim.
While, reportedly, during the relevant period, Mr. Shamshad had been serving at National Defence College, New Delhi and he retired from the Indian Air Force as Group Captain on 31.08.2011.
The University spokesperson said that a CBI team has earlier conducted a preliminary enquiry against Mr. Shahrukh Shamshad after registering a case against him.
The Anti-Corruption Branch of CBI has also deputed an officer to investigate the matter further.
