AMU Dental College Asst Prof returns after training at US
Aligarh, October 30: Dr Z A Dental College Assistant Professor, Dr Saima Yunus Khan has recently completed a three months advanced training programme in â€˜Pediatric Dentistry for Internationally Trained Dentistâ€™ from the Dental School of the University of Maryland in the United States of America.
During her stay in the US, Dr Saima also passed the Pediatric Advanced Life System (PALS) exams of the American Heart Association (AHA). â€œDr Saima is now one of the very few PALS Certified Pediatric Dentists in India,â€ said Professor M K Jindal, Chairman, Department of Pediatrics and Preventive Dentistry, AMU Dental College. He added that Dr Saima has also undergone the necessary training as PALS Certified Pediatric Dentist.
He added that Dr Saimaâ€™s training with the University of Maryland and PALS is a huge achievement for AMU Dental College in particular and the university in general.
Prof Jindal further confirmed that Dr Saima has also attended the 6th Annual AVA Rorerts, Advanced Pediatric Dentistry, International Continuing Dental Education conference during her stay in the US.
In the US, Dr Saima was also invited to deliver a lecture on â€˜Retrieval of foreign object and management of immature Apexâ€™ at the Pediatric Dentistry Department, University of Maryland. â€œShe was highly appreciated by the faculty and the residents at the Dental School of University of Maryland for her lecture,â€ also said Prof Jindal.
Dr Saima passed her MDS in Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry from Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya Avad University in 2011. She did her BDS from Aligarh Muslim University in 2006. During her Bachelors, she was a university topper with 10 Gold Medals. She was awarded the first position in BDS I, II and IV professionals.
She is also a recipient of prestigious Prof D S Gupta Award for Uttar Pradesh state topper. She was also awarded the certificate of merit from the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry.
Dr Saima is a receiver of E-book series for Bentham Science Publishers. Her numerous papers have been published in journals of national and international repute. She was recently awarded the â€˜Best Paperâ€™ at the 35th Annual National ISPPD Conference, Jaipur.
