Adele tickets for 2016 USA, Canada tour hottest property in town: Fetching $9000 per ticket on many websites
The same happened as it was expected. Tickets for Adele’s first concert tour of North America were sold out within minutes. Later the same tickets were being sold on secondary websites for $1000 to $9900 depending on the seats. A seat very close to the stage was fetching the highest premium while those at the back were being sold for around $1000.
NVONews in its earlier reports had predicted that given the enthusiasm in the European market for her tour and the massive success of her latest album in US, tickets will be sold out within minutes.
The fast selling of her concert tickets in the US is no surprise as her album has broken almost all the previous records. Apple announced last week that Adele’s “25†is the best-selling album on iTunes. The record-breaking sales of 5.2 million units in the United States alone of her new album, “25” had left no one in doubt how the fans were going to respond. And they did better than expectations.
Nonetheless many fans complained of website issues. Fans reported getting stuck for 45 minutes or more on ticketing websites, only to find that seats were sold out for major cities on the tour that starts in July in St. Paul, Minnesota and ends in Mexico City on Nov. 15. In the meantime she seemed to be ruling the social media and hashtags #adeletickets and #adelesoldout trended on Twitter.
