64GB Xiaomi Mi 4 woudn’t need registration on Flipkart, open sale from today
Third largest smartphone maker Xiaomi is now moving beyond Flipkart, India’s top online retailer. Notwithstanding the fact that Flipkart has brought instant success for Chinese smarthone maker Xiaomi in the Indian market, nonetheless the company is working hard to expand itself both horizontally and vertically.
It has already started selling some of its products through its own website especially aimed at the Indian market. And if that was not enough, the company has finally started tying with brick-and-mortar showrooms.
Now taking a huge step the company has now signed with Mobile Store, India’s leading smartphone seller in the country. Till now it is selling handsets through flash sales on Flipkart alone. But people felt frustrated due to the format of its flash sales where you first need to register and then the whole inventory used to be sold within a few seconds. Many not so tech savvy people couldn’t buy the handset despite registering for it multiple times and that was immensely frustrating for them.
Inputs from Xiaomi officials claim that the online and brick-and-mortar showroom prices will match. A report in The Economic Times claims that Xiaomi’s Mi 4 and Redmi Note 4G will be available through The Mobile Store – via 55 stores in Delhi NCR – priced at Rs 19,999 and Rs 9,999, respectively.
These centers will also be converted into service centers of Xiaomi, making it all the more convenient to reach there if their handsets develop issues. Xiaomi India head, Manu Jain says “This will be the first time that we’re getting into offline trade in India. In China, about 20-30% of total sales come from telecom operators’ stores while the rest comes from our online store – Mi.com.†In line with the reports about Xiaomi’s own e-commerce store, the Chinese handset maker has started selling accessories on its Mi India store .
This is going to be a great news for many Xiaomi fans who didn’t want the hassle of registering on Flipkart and ending up disappointed.
In the meantime 64GB Xiaomi Mi 4 woudn’t need registration on Flipkart. You can go and buy the handset directly without participating in any flash sale.
