50k students appear for AMU’s MBBS/BDS entrance test

ALIGARH: The most prestigious entrance test for admission to MBBS/BDS of the Aligarh Muslim University was conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner at Aligarh, Lucknow, Allahabad, Bareilly, Bhopal, Kozhikode, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Srinagar, Patna and Guwahati. In all, about 51 thousand candidates applied for the entrance test at various test centres. More than 15 thousand candidates opted for Aligarh Centre.

AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah along with senior University officials visited several test centres in Aligarh. He appreciated the efforts of the University authorities to conduct the test in a smooth and transparent manner.

He also interacted with parents and assured them that the selected candidates will be provided better accommodation facilities. He said that AMU has got third rank amongst Indian universities and we hope it would become number one university in near future.

AMU Registrar, Dr. Asfar Ali Khan, DSW, Prof. Anis Ismail and Controller Prof. Javed Akhtar visited the different test centres.

The parents of candidates appreciated the efforts of the University to provide various facilities including cold water and shelter for them. They considered AMU test as a model for other institutions of higher learning.

AMU had deputed senior faculty members as observers to supervise the smooth conduct of tests at various centres. Special help camps were organized by National Service Scheme (NSS) and other voluntary groups.

The University Proctorial teams were posted on different locations to keep a strict vigilance on the situation. District Administration also provided necessary assistance including traffic policing for smooth conduct of test.
