2016 republican presidential polls: Donald Trump vs Megyn Kelly, Fox News goes on offensive against Trump
When will Republican front runner Donald Trump’s obsession with Fox News newscaster Megyn Kelly end? Despite the fact that he attended the Fox debate before cancelling the latest one, he seems to have kept hatred for her alive in his heart.
Though Megyn Kelly has kept her cool and has refrained responding to the billionaire businessman in kind, the television channel has come out to defend its top newscaster.
A Fox News spokesperson while responding to Trump said, “Donald Trump’s vitriolic attacks against Megyn Kelly and his extreme, sick obsession with her is beneath the dignity of a presidential candidate who wants to occupy the highest office in the landâ€.
The spokesperson while defending Kelly said, “Megyn is an exemplary journalist and one of the leading anchors in America — we’re extremely proud of her phenomenal work and continue to fully support her throughout every day of Trump’s endless barrage of crude and sexist verbal assaults…As the mother of three young children, with a successful law career and the second highest rated show in cable news, it’s especially deplorable for her to be repeatedly abused just for doing her job.â€
The great support that Megyn Kelly has got from her network suggests that Fox has decided to stand with her against Trump. The forceful statement from the news network came after Trump reignited his feud with the primetime anchor, repeatedly referring to her as “crazy Megyn†on Twitter.
Donald Trump who seems to have developed a strong hatred for Kelly asked his fans to boycott Kelly show on Fox this past Friday. “Never worth watching. Always a hit on Trump! She is sick, & the most overrated person on tv,†he tweeted.
