Things are becoming very exciting for top teams as far as 2014 Winter Olympics latest medal count is concerned.USA team wins slopestyle skiing [VIDEO]
The United States was at the centre of attraction in Sochi today. Its players outplayed others in the Olympic men’s ski slopestyle competition. The domination was one sided. The US team created history. Before this feat, the US has swept an event at the Winter Games twice.

Three players who wowed the audience by their stellar performance included Joss Christensen, Gus Kenworthy and Nick Goepper of the US. Joss scooped the gold scoring 95.80; Gus won silver, scoring 93.60 and Nick— who has won the slopestyle event in the last two years— won bronze, managing 92.40.

It was in 2002 when the US had swept in an event. The team had won three medals in men’s halfpipe snowboard competition. The feat was first accomplished in 1956 in skating singles.

The American freeskiing slopestyle coach Skogen Sprang said: “It’s pretty amazing. I’m still kind of in shock.  You just do what you can to get them all ready. They did their job and stomped the runs and crushed it. I’m just so stoked for all of them, man.”

Fans too relished the moment. The Rosa Khutor Extreme Park where the game was being unfolded was overcrowded by buffs. Carrying flags, many Americans were seen celebrating the moment wearing face paint.
