Its present iteration is doing exceptionally well. Sony Xperia Z2 release date, specs and features rumors have already started doing the rounds.
We have just witnessed to the official rollout of Sony’s Xperia Z1 camera phone at the IFA 2013. Now the rumorland is whispering about an upgrade for the device, called Xperia Z2. The Xperia Z1 follow-up is likely to carry a 5.2-inch IGZO Triluminos display with FullHD resolution at 506-ppi. The news about the Xperia Z2 comes from AndroidSaS, which refers to some sources in Japan.
The Xperia Z2 on the cards is further to get a Snapdragon 800 chip-based quad core processor and 3GB RAM. It will just keep the same 20.7-megapixel rear facing camera of its predecessor, meaning that we are to get a rather bigger Android camera phone from Sony. It is also to feature a Xenon flash instead of LED flash of the Xperia Z1, however.
Another interesting thing is that the Z2 is to run on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. This is the next major update to the Google’s famous mobile operating system that will pack a range of awesome features. Reportedly, the Android 4.4 KitKat is heading for release in 2014 with the month of April having the better chance to find its public release.
Some sources are uncertain about yet another camera centric phone from Sony. Of course, they claim that a follow-up is under the making at Sony, but it is not the time to say that it would be the Xperia Z2. Maybe, it might be Sony’s candidate for the early 2014 smartphone frenzy. There is little chance for such a device’s release this fall.
Sony has stunned analysts with a range of incredible smartphones lately. They include the likes of Sony Xperia Z flagship, Xperia Z Ultra phablet and Xperia Z1 cameraphone. Let us expect for more similarly amazing products from the company in the coming months as well.
