Celebrated hacker Barnaby Jack dies at 35, cause of death still unknown. Known as the modern day Robin-hood, Hacker Barnaby Jack, who after hacking the ATM’s distributed the amount among the poor people, died under unknown circumstances, in San Francisco.
In the news that was broken by Medical Examiner’s Office had no details regarding the cause of Barnaby’s death. The 35-year old hacker first hit the limelight when he hacked the ATM’s and later distribute the amount among the needy persons.
The most loved hacker of his times, Barnaby, was due to appear at the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas on 1 August. In fact in his recent findings Barnaby ad discovered bugs in medical devices. He was to give a presentation on medical device vulnerability at the Black Hat conference and was planning to talk about a wireless technique that he claimed could kill a man from 30 feet.
During an interview in 2012, Jack had spoken about how he had discovered flaws in widely used insulin pumps which allowed him to compromise the devices and administer a fatal level of insulin. Speaking at that time, Jack said: “My purpose was not to allow anyone to be harmed by this because it is not easy to reproduce. But hopefully it will promote some change in these companies and get some meaningful security in these devices.”
A week before his death, Jack had maintained that he could prove that medical equipment for heart patients could be used to kill them.
