CAIRO: Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi discussed on Monday with Prime Minister Hisham Qandil and Minister of Defense Abdulfatah Al-Sisi the current developments in the country.
The meeting occurred after a statement earlier by the Egyptian Armed Forces which has given the country’s rival political parties a couple of days to resolve the current critical political crisis after huge rallies and protests that swept the country.
The Egyptian army also vowed not to get involved in the political process or governance in the future.
The general command of the armed forces said in the statement that unless the people’s demands were met in the 48-hour ultimatum, it would have to launch a roadmap for the coming period.
The army would offer a “roadmap” for peace if President Mohammad Morsi and his opponents failed to heed “the will of the people”, it warned.
