Can India tame Jayawardene and Sangakkara? This is a question that is hounding the team management and Indian captain Mahendra Signh Dhoni. Both are top batsmen in the world and have proved very dangerous for teams in the past. Now when India is facing them in the all important semi finals, it needs to come with an effective planning to tame these two top world class batsmen. But Jayawardene is most dangerous of the two and has been flourishing here like no one else.
This is an important match today and Sri Lankans would be doing everything to win this match and progress to final to take on England who are in their best form. Their last match against South Africa was so easy, that they have started looking like a possible champions. There is no doubt that English side is in great form and their batting and bowling departments look very impressive. But England must be praying that India actually doesn’t reach the final as they are as competitive or even more than they and they know it fully.
On the other hand there is also no doubt that Indian side is in great form. They seem to be a very balanced side, better than any team in this tournament. To be true, India have won their matches rather easily , but they are not going to take this match lightly. Though Indian side is in great form and its batting and bowling, besides fielding look very balanced, but they know that the Lankans are a great side and have good batting and bowling departments. Whenever they come to life on the field, it can make life difficult for the opposite side. India must be particularly fearful of their top batsmen, Sangakkara, Jayawardene and even other batsmen who can change the course of the game single handedly. On the other hand Sri Lankan bowling is also balanced and can be threatening on any day. So Dhoni and his boys must be apprehensive about today’s match.
Batting has always been the key of success for the Indian side. But now they have an equally bowling side and have both very effective spinners and top class fast bowlers. Indian team has evolved into a perfect team that has the ability to beat the best of the best. They are the best batting side and have scored highest runs during this series, besides of course are the ones who have chased huge totals by the opposite sides. Indian team consists of great performers including Dhawan, Kohli, Karthik, Dhoni, Murali Vijay besides Suresh Raina and others who have always scored in every match. On the other hand, India’s bowling is in perfect hands of Yadav, Vinay Kumar, Ishant Sharma and Ashwin.
