So there are more handsets from Japanese smartphone vendor. Here we take a look at Sony Xperia M, Xperia M dual specs, release date and price details
Sony has added yet another member to its Xperia line of Android phones. The new device is Xperia M, which is a 4-inch midrange Android 4.1 Jelly Bean-based phone. The Xperia M and its dual SIM alternate the Xperia M dual are to make their ways to stores in Q3 this year with a new price point, says Sony on its press note. The Xperia M will be taking on the major mid-range Android phones from other leading tech makers.
The new candidate to the Sony Xperia lineup comes up with a 4-inch TFT display of FWVGA resolution. The innards of the device include a solid Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus chip-based 1GHz dual-core Krait processor, 1GB RAM, an Adreno 305 graphics card and more. The rear camera of the device is a 5MP unit that is nice to take video and pics of moderate quality thanks to an Exmor sensor. The front camera is a 0.3MP unit.
Connectivity options of the Xperia M and Xperia M dual include dual band Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, NFC and more. Well, NFC on a midrange phone is amazing, and indeed it should be one of the important highlights of Xperia M. As put it above, the Xperia M and its dual SIM variant are to run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.
Sony has described the device as a fine entry level model of its rich Xperia Android phones. “Consumers looking for their first steps into the world of Xperia smartphones, would be well-advised to look at Xperia M or Xperia M dual,” says Calum MacDougall, Director of Xperia Marketing at Sony.
The Japan tech maker is to take the handset to market in Q3 this year. It is to appear in black, white, lime and purple colors. Though the dual SIM variant has the same specs of its original, it will miss out the lime color option. Sony is yet to reveal the pricing details of the gadget, however.
