Both are great products and will be loved by millions and millions. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 vs Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 specs and features analysis of 8-inch tablets from the same manufacturer makes excellent reading
Specs of the possible new addition to the Samsung Galaxy Tab midsize tablet line have leaked to web. Along with the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, specs of the new small screen Android tablet from the Korean tech firm have just come to the fore. The small tablet is to mount a bit larger 8-inch display than its predecessor’s 7-inch display. Remember, it is only a rumor and don’t take it granted. Well, if the rumor is true, what the market is going to witness to a stiff clash between Samsung’s own tiny tablets; the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 Vs Galaxy Note 8, with both sporting 8-inch displays.
Display: Yes, as it is mentioned above, both the Tab 3 8.0 and Note 8 are to come forward with 8-inch displays. The rumored new tablet is likely to offer a nice resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, which is the same range the Note 8 shows off. For Note 8, Samsung has used a TFT panel, while it is not clear what technology it will utilize to design the Tab 3 8.0.
Processor: As it is rumored, the Tab 3 8.0 is to draw its vigor from a 1.5GHz dual core processor that will work in support of 2GB RAM. There is no mention about the exact chip, processor and GPU that device would have. It is when the Samsung’s upcoming Note 8 is to get a 1.6GHz quad core processor (Cortex-A9) that will enclose the new Exynos 4412 chipset. The tablet also gets power from a Mali-400MP GPU and 2GB of RAM.
Storage: Sadly enough, we have no clue available about the internal storage of the rumored Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. Of course, it may get decent memory variants that will also mount microSD slots. Meanwhile, the Note 8 is to roll out in two essential memory variants; 16GB and 32GB, along with microSD slots, of course.
Software: Both the devices will be featuring Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. They will surely get the next update to the firmware in future. It is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean that majority of the newly-announced phones are set to feature preinstalled. By the way, Google’s next key Android update, possibly Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie (KLP), is apparently around the corner. It may be wrapped off officially at the firm’s upcoming I/O conference mid this year.
Camera: Rear cameras on tablet PCs are not having much sense at all. Tablet owners rarely use rear cameras for the purpose of photography or video shooting. However, all key small tablets have nice cameras. When it comes to the devices in our discussion, – Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and Note 8 – they are respectively to sport 3MP and 5MP rear cameras. They both have 1.3MP front cameras as well. In fact, front cameras are largely useful on a tablet because it lets users make video chatting, one of the much-touted uses of a tablet PC.
Connectivity: Both the slates are coming in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi-cellular combo variants. Set aside the essential features for cellular connectivity, the tablets have Wi-Fi, dual band, Wi-Fi Direct Wi-Fi hotspot, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB port. The Note 8 also has infrared port in addition. Above all, Note 8 is also known for its S Pen digitizer for letting users handle things and mange content quite quickly and briskly.
Price & Release Date: Samsung announced the Note 8 a few weeks back and it is slated for shipping sometime in the second quarter of the year. Its price will rest at something around $400. In the meantime, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 is still in rumors. Samsung is yet to confirm such a device, but chance is high that a tablet with the rumored specs will come out as the third upgrade to its Galaxy Tab midsize Android tablet lineup.
