Biggest smart phone and feature phone manufacturer Samsung is giving EMI and cash back offers on Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Grand etc in India
Samsung is following Apple in offering cash back to its customers in India. The tactic may work well for the company that has the biggest share of smart-phone in India. For many people Korean tech giant’s handsets are a dream and zero interest EMI and then cash back offers are going to prompt many people who have been dreaming to get a handset from Sammy. Almost all the top rung handsets of the Korean tech company are available with cash back and EMI offers. The company is giving full page ad insertions in all the leading newspapers in the country. Even vernacular newspapers are also benefiting from Samsung’s latest ad spree.
Be it Samsung’s Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note original and Galaxy Grand duos, all these handsets are available with the latest offer from Korean company. Sammy is following Apple in offering EMI and cashback offers. Cupertino based company Apple had launched an ad blitz last month that is continuing till date without interruptions. And reports suggest that Apple is immensely benefiting from its latest scheme. The company was able to sell its very old and dated iPhone 4 more than iPhone 5 merely in the first five days after launching the cash back and EMI offers. Samsung too is dreaming to get the same rousing response for its handsets that are already popular across the country.
Asim Warsi Samsung India Vice President while talking about the aggressive marketing in recent days says, “The strong success that we are garnering with zero per cent finance-based offers encouraged us to offer the 15 per cent cash back offer with Standard Chartered and ICICI Bank”.
The Korean tech giant Samsung has over 43 per cent share of the Indian smartphone market, though new players like Micromax and Carbonn are posing stiff competition before it. Last year around 220 million handsets were sold in the country, but the share of smart-phone was a miniscule 7 percent. For most people features phone are still sufficient and most people don’t aspire to go for smart-phones even now. But things are changing and people are also trying to use smart-phone to use email and get good camera on their handsets.
