Kobe Bryant injury played its role in LA Lakers vs Atlanta Hawks match. It is obvious that Lakers lost to Atlanta Hawks due to his unfortunate injury
It wasn’t easy for the Los Angeles Lakers’ playoff push with its key player Kobe Bryant suffering a severe left ankle sprain on Wednesday night.
X-rays state that the sprain is not serious and thank god for it but Bryant is having a tough time battling out the pain as since 2000, this has been his worst sprain. What adds to his agony is a Lakers official stating that he will be out indefinitely.
Bryant while talking about the contact with another player Jones, said that shooters need to be protected by officials. They are important and need proper protection, he said. He added that you cannot barge into shooters as it becomes dangerous then. This has come at a worse time ever for the Lakers.
This loss to the Lakers will spell doom for the team’s spirit. The team had won 17 of the worse time ever games when it got into the Wednesday’s game and moved into playoff position in the Western Conference.
Other players of the Lakers were showing remarkable performances with coach Mike D’Antoni’s system of coaching and the chemistry between the team was evident. Players like Dwight Howard and Steve Nash has proved themselves as an integral part of the team but with Bryant going out, the team is left with nothing to look forward to.
This player was responsible for more than a quarter of the Lakers’ offense this season. This man had led the emotional charge by guaranteeing a playoff berth back last month, at the time when the Lakers were 26-29.
His heroic stunts could be well seen in the match against Hawks. He had managed a deep three-pointer with 18 seconds left cut the lead to one.
Even this month, during a match, in the final 100 seconds, he buried three three-pointers, now that is some move Bryant. This move of his made the Lakers not only win but also it turned out to be one of many vintage performances for the future Hall of Famer.
You must be wondering as to when did the injury happen. Well, to tell you, it happened in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter, with Lakers trailing the Hawks.
In an attempt to extend the game, Lakers guard Steve Blake took a personal foul to send Korver back to the line, Bryant could not get up and remained on the floor in corner and he had clutched his left leg due to the pain. Head athletic trainer Gary Vitti from the Lakers proceeded to the corner where Bryant was lying down to check on him. Bryant had walked off on his own.
When Bryant is missing, reports state that his place might be taken by reserve guard Jodie Meeks and he would become the starting shooting guard. The team is set to face a match on Friday and with Bryant missing from the scene, we don’t know how will the team fare. Just hoping that it shows similar magic as it spelt with Bryant.
