Salman Khan is the new BAADSHAH of Bollywood. There is no doubt about it. For the last many years he has been giving hits after hits to industry, eclipsing every other hero in the process, say Anjali Singh Deswal of NVONews.Com
Salman Khan, much known for his romantic involvement with ace heroines of their times and controversies that can ruin lives has eventually become the BAADSHAH of Bollywood.
Be it his ‘Being Human’ campaign, his one after the other hits, or his jaw dropping good looks coupled with a super fit body, he has eventually become the ‘lifeline of Bollywood’, atleast for the begum of Pataudi Kareena Kapoor, who recently quoted that Salman Khan is the lifeline of the industry.
Salman has often been termed as Bollywood’s bad boy with being in the news for all the wrong reasons manages to maintain a line-up of hit pe hit. As they now say that ‘agar Salman hai to picture hit hai’.
The industry has accepted him from a bad boy to the highest paid actors of today. He is referred as the lifeline of the film industry not only due to his acting but because many feel that he has a heart of gold.
Salman was born in 1965 to a legendary writer Salim Khan and had a strong correlation with the Hindi film industry. It was in 1988 that Sallu was first seen in Biwi Ho Toh Aisi and then came his all-time hit Maine Pyaar Kiya, the craze is alive till date.
Hum Aapke Hain Kaun was another romantic family drama that gave a radical lift to Sallu’s career. So many aspects of his personality have been showcased by him through his versatile roles from being sensitive to funny, from vulnerable to charming.
Salman is someone who has been in controversies all the time, may be due to his simplicity. For killing wild animals to possessing illegal arms, he has been behind the bars off and on. This negative avatar of the actor however has not managed to steal the allure Salman reflects. He was also in news for killing a man and causing injuries to others in Bandra after crashing his car in September 2002, despite all this he is one of the most successful actors Bollywood has ever witnessed.
His acting was acknowledged all over again in Tere Naam opposite Bhumika Chawla and through this he tried to balance out his life that was troubled. His career got a new high after Tere Naam and he gained ground among distributors and producers that he had almost lost due to the controversies surrounding him.
One of his most bitter tiffs within the Bollywood was with another superstar Shah Rukh Khan but Salman soon realised that this can prove disastrous for his career and he soon recovered from this phase.
His present obsession is Being Human- Salman Khan Foundation that he launched in 2007. This charitable organization aids the underprivileged in areas such as education and health-care.
His recent hits that proved record breaking at the Boxoffice are Dabangg, Ready, Bodyguard and Dabangg 2. This string of hits has earned him the title of Bollywood’s lifeline.
Sallu is also known for his frequent visits to hospital to meet sick children and donates blood often expressing his compassionate side.
All this has made Salman one actor who is now looked upon by many within the industry making him the godfather of many in the tinsel town.
