It is a 5.7-inch phablet, but is not a 1080p phone. It has a resolution of just 720p, which is actually the old trend. The new trend in mobile market is toward big screen FullHD devices. Though lacking an FHD screen, the Grand Memo is known for its larger display and a brand new Snapdragon 800 CPU. Here are the complete details about the handset.
“The ZTE Grand Memo earns its name with a big screen – 5.7-inch in diagonal. Rather disappointingly, the resolution of the screen is just 720p,” says GSMArena. It has a pixel density of 258ppi, which is good, but most of its competitors have 440 or plus pixel density thanks to their FHD screen. But, some sources recently reported that the device would have a 1080p screen. GSMArena has, however, confirmed that the device would have only a 720p panel.
Under the hood, the handset would tout Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 800 chipset. The processor, clocked at 1.5GHz, should be faster thanks to the new chip from Qualcomm. The processor would be supported by Adreno 330 GPU. The device would be 8.5mm thin and it will mount a 3,200mAh battery for longer life. Like all other FHD phablets, the ZTE Grand Memo will have a new 13MP rear camera with 1080p video capture capability.
For network connectivity, it will have options like LTE Cat 3 [100Mbps down, 50Mbps up], Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB port and more. There is no information available about the device’s price and release date. Indeed, we can soon expect the Grand Memo in markets. It is to become of one of the lower-priced phablets of the year in many markets. However, it will fall short to the leading top-end phablets in many aspects.

The ZTE Open features Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1 and A-GPS with Nokia’s new HERE maps. ZTE hopes to sell the device largely among the possible fans of Firefox OS. The new operating system is likely to fight with the current dominators, the Android, Apple iOS and Windows Phone in mobile market.
