Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Vs Google Nexus 7
Samsung is now to directly face off Google with a superb Galaxy Note 8 in the mid-size tablet market. Yes, it is nice to learn that Google’s much-appreciated small tablet PC the Nexus 7 is to get a strong rival from the South Korean tech maker. The battle between the Galaxy Note 8 and the Asus-built Nexus 7 will certainly be a classic one. So it seems to be the right time to compare these two devices with Android.
Software: The Nexus 7 is running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the most recent version of the Google mobile software. This is only available for Google’s Nexus devices as of now. The 4.2 is known for its compatibility for setting up multiple profiles in a device. The Note 8 is to come with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean preinstalled and may get update quite sooner.
Display Screen: The Google tablet sports a 7-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD display that has a screen resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels at 216-ppi. It is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass. Camera: Google has added only a front facing camera on Nexus 7, which is meant for video calling. It can take video at 720p, while Note 8 has both front and rear cameras. The main one is a 5MP camera, while the secondary one is a 1.3MP camera. Indeed, they will be providing nice clarity and perfection.
Connectivity: The Nexus 7 enjoys both a Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi cellular combo variants. As connectivity options, the second model has GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, HSUPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and a microUSB port. The new Note 8 tablet features HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 & 5 GHz), Wi-Fi Direct, AllShareCast, BT4.0, USB2.0 port and more.
Special Features: Google introduced its mid-size tablet PC with lots of special features. It was the first 7-inch tablet to come out with a quad core processor and now it has Android 4.2 as a key special feature. The Note 8, at the same time, is a totally innovative tablet. Samsung has added many exciting features that include its support of the S Pen digitizer like all other Note devices in market. A set of native apps like S Note, S Planner, email with hand-writing integration and others further add to its muscle.
Release Date, Price: Samsung has not yet said when it would officially unveil its new tablet PC. The device would most likely be on display at the company’s booth at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Spain late this year. After its release, sooner we can expect the tablet in stores for grabs. The Nexus 7 has been there in shelves for a while. It is one of the most sold small screen tablet now. It has been getting a special craze thanks to its low price and wealthy specs. You can just buy the 16GB model of the device for $199 and 32GB version for price lower than $250.
