Biggest smartphone: Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (video)

It is massive for a handset, but small for a tablet. Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is a full blown smart phone (video)

It is the biggest smart-phone ever launched. It is not a pahblet, but a full blown 8-inch tablet that comes with full smart-phone capabilities. Yes the just showcased Samsung tablet Galaxy Note 8 comes with top tablet specs and features, but it also has all the capabilities of a smart-phone that is going to add its advantage for many Samsung fans and even non-Samsung fans who don’t mind using huge handsets for making calls.

But the tablet is set to be the biggest threat for at least one product, Apple’s iPad Mini. I am sure Galaxy Note 8 will pose threat to Apple’s forthcoming next generation small tablet iPad Mini 2 when it is introduced in the market, probably in the next couple of months. Samsung hasn’t really announced a definite release date for its latest tablet, nonetheless it is sure to come after several weeks from now. Though not much is really known about Apple’s iPad Mini 2 launch, nonetheless it is sure it will come out within the next couple of months.

Galaxy Note 8.0 has several advantages over iPad Mini. Its specs are also better than what comes with iPad Mini. Galaxy Note 8.0 runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as 4.2 version is still reserved for Google’s own products. Besides Galaxy Note 8 has a 1.6 GHz quad-core CPU, 2 gigabytes of RAM, and an 8-inch, 1280 x 800 display. I am sure people across the world are going to love its S Pen stylus that is also the part of Galaxy Note original and Note 2. I am sure other tablet manufacturers are going to fall for the stylus in the days to come. Microsoft has already incorporated stylus pen in its second generation tablet Surface Pro and many more tablet manufacturers are set to follow it in the days to come. Apple may also resort to stylus in years to come as it has become a trend and people are demanding it.

Meanwhile almost all the reviews are full of praise for the tablet. A reviewer while writing about the tab in CNNMoney says, “The device itself is suitably thin and light (more or less comparable to the iPad mini, it’s closest known competition), and is responsive enough for most tasks. The stylus works pretty well, introducing a new feature that lets you activate preview panes of apps such as email and Flipboard, without ever touching the screen (instead, you hover above the area you want to preview)”. Others too are full of praise for the little beautiful machine.
