Google fans are in for another great gift from the search giant. After inundating the market with a new smartphone, a seven inch tablet and a bigger 10 inch tablet, the company is set to introduce a fascinating Touchscreen Google Chromebook. The reports are filtering through top news sources that the work is already in the final stages and that we can safely expect the new touchscreen chromebook as early as later this year.

The search giant is on a high these days. Its phenomenal success with the smart-phone and tablet has comprehensively transformed it as among the brightest stars in the industry. Its tablets Nexus 7 and nexus 10 have put the top tablet manufacturer Apple that manufactures iPad on notice. The two machines are among the best and simply beat Apple when it comes to features and specs. Google’s stock is also on an upswing and just two days ago it surged past $800 per share a record of sort.

A Wall Street Journal report suggests that the search giant is set to launch one of its most high profile products to date in the form of Chromebook laptop that will tout a touchscreen display. The report is not speculation and we have seen several proofs that one such product was in the making. We recently happened to watch a concept video of the Chromebook Pixel (also known as Link,). This was not all. There are several other proofs indicating that Google was seriously putting efforts into manufacturing one.

Though the whole tech world is buzzing with reports and rumors on the topic there are others who are wondering as to how Google will work to attract developers to make touch optimised apps for the Chromebook, although it won’t be too difficult as the Chrome OS mainly runs HTML5 based web apps. Analysts are of the opinion that the touch enabled chromebook would complement Google’s other mobile and tablets and will improve the profile of the company in the hardware market as well. The images that have been leaked make the machine look a lot like Apple’s Mac Book Pro. There is very close resemblance in keyboard layout as well. But the images leak very early adaptations and the final product may be very different from what we have right now.
