Asus MeMO Pad 7-inch tablet no match for Google nexus 7: Specs, features

Asus MeMO Pad 7-inch tablet is certainly no match for Google Nexus 7. Here we take a look at its specs and features

Asus seems to be in a hurry to introduce a number of great products in Asia. With USA proving to be a hard nut to crack for the Taiwanese tech giant, the company is concentrating its efforts in the Asian and European markets though it also occasionally launches its top products in the USA.

Asus’ latest offering in the form of 7-inch MeMO Pad seems to be part of its efforts to strengthen its presence in the fast expanding tablet market. With more and more companies stressing on smaller tablet as it seems to be better for outdoor use without ensuring huge carry-bags unlike 10 inch tablets, Asus is also working hard to make its presence felt. Though it manufactured Google’s very successful 7-inch Android tablet Nexus 7 that has been sold in millions across the world, Asus’ own tabs are yet to get the same sort of popularity in the market.

To be true, it has launched a number of tablets that looked better than others, but somehow they failed to enthuse the market like Apple or Google. But thankfully this time Asus seems to have launched an impeccable product that is set to get rousing welcome in markets across the world, especially for people who want to go for cheap tablets from good brand. The tab comes with 10-inch 1,024 x 600-pixel screen, single-core 1GHz processor, and just 8GB of internal storage. To get a good market for its budget tab, the company has priced the MeMO Pad lower Google Nexus 7, which starts at S$349 for the 16GB model. The 7-inch tab with price tag of $149 is a dream tablet for people who want to go for their first tablet.

But notwithstanding the price difference, the Nexus 7 and MeMo 7 there is no real comparison. Its single core processor cannot be really compared with four cores that come with Tegra 3 Google Nexus 7 that was also manufactured by the Taiwanese tech giant. The tab will come with 3 megapixel rear camera and a 1.2 megapixel camera on the front. So if you want to choose between Google Nexus 7 and this tablet, you better go for Nexus 7. But if you were looking for an entry level very affordable (read cheap) tab, there is no alternative to it.
