Workshop organized on Gas Insulated Systems

ALIGARH: The Department of Electrical Engineering, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University organized a Workshop on Advances in Gas Insulated Systems.

In her inaugural lecture, Prof. Nandini Gupta highlighted the advantages of Gas Insulated Substations for extra high voltage systems. The effect of partial discharge on the insulation including GIS Systems and its detection were also thoroughly discussed.

The chief guest, Mr. Tribhuvan Tiwari, General Manager, Harduaganj Power Station described his experience of managing generating station at Anpara and the problem of partial discharge in transformers.

Prof. Mukhtar Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering explained the purpose of the workshop and presented an introduction to the speakers.

Prof. Ekram Husain, Principal, Engineering College shared his experiences in detecting partial discharges using various techniques.

Dr. M.M. Mohsin presented a vote of thanks. A large number of delegates from various Engineering Colleges attended the workshop.
