Google Glass project is no longer the mystery it used to be. The search giant’s futuristic glasses that will bring information of all sorts to the glasses directly from internet and inform the users for ‘everything’ is set to become publicly available in the market pretty soon.
So far many people had said that Google Project Glass will die its own death as it was not feasible and cannot be produced on commercial scale as not many people would be interested to go for that. But the latest developments suggest the company is well on track to take its internet dominance to other domains including smart-phones, tablet and now glasses too.
So far Google had kept most of the details about its project glasses under wraps, but now the company seems to be opening up about its impressive glasses that will help you in almost everything from finding the books to traffic position in a locality or even the timing or delay in trains or buses. These digital and internet-connected goggles will show digital information right in front of your eyes, projected over the physical world, making your work very easy. Now the company is asking the developers to come along and is holding events in New York City and San Francisco to allow developers have a look at the glasses and the way they can contribute in the project. The search giant’s invite said, “Join us for an early look at Glass and two full days of hacking on the upcoming Google Mirror API in San Francisco or New York…These hackathons are just for developers in the Explorer program and we’re calling them the Glass Foundry”.
Sometimes ago Google officials had shed some details on how the Glasses will work. As per Google co-founder Sergey Brin, the firm intends to shape up the device through the hands of its customers. Google looks for feedback from passionate users. “This is new technology and we really want you to shape it. We want to get it out into the hands of passionate people as soon as possible,” says Brin, who appeared himself onstage wearing the Project Gasless display. Google wishes to sell the glasses to public by early 2014. Until then, it will be under various phases of tests. “I think we are definitely pushing the limits,” Brin said. “That is our job: to push edges of technology into the future”, Brin had given some details.
The project Glasses have been known to be under development for around three years. The Project Glass has been under development in Google’s headquarters in Mountain View. Google X, the web giant’s secret research lab that recently uncovered the driverless car, has also been leading the glass project. At Google I/O, Isabelle Olsson, a designer of Glass project said that Google built the glasses to let people interact with the virtual world with no distraction from the real world. Beyond the physical premises, you will be able to enjoy a more immersive and wonderful multimedia experience with the Google glasses, the developers added. So this is very exciting for not just techies but also for common people and the excitement is building. But when Google will launch it commercially in the market, remains a mystery even now.
