New Google Nexus tablet, Apple iPad 5, Apple iPad Mini 2, Surface Pro tablet are among the most awaited tech products of 2013
The tablet market has been much lively in 2012. The market received a bunch of nice tablet PCs including iPad Mini, Google Nexus 7 and 10 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD tablets in the year 2012. The next year will also receive many more powerful and stylish tablets with special focus on faster CPU, better memory and chic look. Here we make an investigation to find the best five potential tablets for the New Year.
Apple iPad Mini 2
To say alive in the small tablet market, Apple needs to produce a second generation iPad Mini as early as possible. The original iPad Mini, which hit market with large fanfare, has been reviewed as a failure. The device has infamously missed a Retina display, quad core processor, better look and more. Indeed, there has been a lukewarm response to iPad Mini compared with its competitors like Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire. Further, Apple put a big price for the tablet. You need to pay $329 to get the 16GB basic model of the handset.
Microsoft Surface Pro
It is the Microsoft tablet for Windows 8 Pro. The Redmond software giant introduced Surface RT last year. Well, apart from the RT, Surface Pro is different with Intel processor and great internal memory. In other words, Surface Pro is more an Ultrabook rather than a tablet. Earlier, it was set to come for a price above $1000. But, there is a talk that after lukewarm response toward the Surface RT, Microsoft may roll out the Pro variant for a price below $1,000.
New Nexus Tablets
Google surfaced two tablets last year; Nexus 7 from Asus and Nexus 10 from Samsung. The firm will certainly launch second upgrades to these devices this year. Nexus 7 was released at Google I/O conference and so Google may unveil an upgrade for the device at the same event this year. Nexus 10 was released in November and it may also get an upgrade by then. It should be exciting to see whether the same companies – Asus and Samsung – would produce upgrades for the machines.
Apple iPad 5
Apple used to upgrade its tablet line every year since its introduction in 2010. But, last year, Apple produced two tablets – iPad 3 and iPad 4. The first one was launched in March and the latter in the fall. So we can look forward for an iPad 5 this year. Maybe, Apple will be launching it early this year, i.e. March or April. There is also a chance that the firm may also unveil the device in November following iPad 4. Anyway, let us expect a further advanced iPad upgrade from Apple this time around.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Upgrade
Samsung’s 2011 Galaxy Tab 10.1 was a big competitor to iPad. The device didn’t get an innovative successor in 2012. Samsung slightly upgraded the tablet with a second version called the Galaxy Tab 10.1 2 along with a 7-inch Tab 7 2. The latter was a descendant to the firm’s first generation Galaxy Tab in 2010 against iPad original. But, along with these upgrades, Samsung also released a full-fledged new 10.1-inch tablet called the Galaxy Note 10.1 in 2012.
As of now, we can rightly expect third generation Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 7 with more advanced features and stylish form factor. The devices will respectively be taking on iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 and other alternatives from the Android market. Samsung may also unveil a second upgrade for its successful S-pen featured Note 10.1 this year. So the market will have too many tablet PCs this year for fight.
