Both teams are great, but whole will prevail? 2013 ICC Champions Trophy England vs South Africa will be a tough match. Read preview

Hashim Amla is one player who frightens his opponents. Though he hasn’t been able to perform during this Champions Trophy but the thought of him coming back in the form is enough to give dreadful thoughts to opposition team.

And before the big match that is slated to begin in the next few hours, the England cricket team is certainly trying to figure out ways to contain this bearded and bespectacled wristy batsman from South Africa. The match is very important for England and South Africa too. For England it is important as they want to meet Australia in Ashes Cup on a high.

But the match is sort of more important for South Africa who have come to be known as chokers. Despite the presence of the best batting and bowling side among them, they have never won an international tournament in ages and this is not just a great source of deprivation for the whole team, but a stigma for them too. Their fans who are more than happy with their performance in a series against a single team, have come to hate them when it comes to international series. This time too their performance so far has been very disappointing and their top order has failed to click.

But somehow they have been able to sneak into the semis of the Champions Trophy. Till now the captain has been very concerned about the spate of injuries in his team. His top two bowlers, very important for his side Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel, have been facing injury after injury. But now there are clear signs that Dale Steyn is finally going to play against English team in today’s all important semifinals. So far during the whole tournament, South Africa have been able to win only a single match against Pakistan that has been thrown out of the tournament without a single win.

In the meantime England must be very concerned about their batting line up. Their middle order has flopped more often than clicked and this thought is going to haunt them today. With Steyn’s availability for the match, they must be very concerned as to how their out of form batsmen will be able to confront his ruthless attack.
