More and more reports are appearing about the improvements in Apple tablets. Reports suggest that iPad Mini 2 with retina display and iPad 5 release date is expected in March 2013
Cupertino based Apple launched its latest iteration of iPhone being called iPhone 5 and new iPad version merely a few months ago. But already there are reports of Apple frantically working on new versions of both the products.
Apple fanboys and long-standing Apple analysts were hoping that with the launch of iPhone 5, Apple stocks will go sky-high and it will start trading in the periphery of around $900 with the launch of the next generation iPad tablet version. But opposite seems to be happening. This is because of so high were the expectations that many analysts suggested that Apple will sell around 8-10 million iPhone 5 in the very first weekend of the launch. It fared very well and sold around 6 million units –a record of sorts for the smart phone market –but give the Himalayan expectations it looked low.
Never in the history of smart-phones, a handset was sold in such a huge number within such a short period. But unreasonably high expectations did it in. Now Apple stocks, instead of trading in proximity of $900 are trading at around $500. On December 28 Apple stock closed at $509.59 from a high of $705 in mid September.
This seems to have forced Apple to prepare for next generation launch of both iPad and iPhone in the next few months. A DigiTimes report says that Apple is contemplating using IGZO displays in their new iPad, iPad mini and iPhone versions early 2013. Reports suggest that the Cupertino based Apple is in talk with Sharp over IGZO panel production capacity estimates for 2013 and is also inquiring about whether AU Optronics’ (AUO) L5C line could be used to produce the technology.
On the other hand a report in MacWolrd says that Apple may plan to launch its new iPad version much earlier than anticipated and March 2013 seems to be the right time for the launch. Though this blog doesn’t detail as to why it expects the launch of next generation iPad so early, but says its sources in Apple have made the revelations. Meanwhile reports suggest that Apple will also launch a Retina version of iPad Mini. If this really happens, iPad Mini will start competing more fiercely with its bigger versions in the days to come.
