HTC One SV is a new midrange phone from the Taiwanese tech maker. It was announced in November 2012 and is slated for December launch. It will be a tough rival to the whole line of midrange phones in market. At the same time, we are about get the new Lumia 620, a low-price addition to the new Lumia series of phones for Windows Phone 8. Here we are up to make a comparison between the Lumia 620 and HTC One SV. Read on to find the best phone for your requirement.

Software: This is the major difference between the handsets. The Lumia 620 is to run on Windows Phone 8. Once realized, it will be the cheapest phone that runs on Windows Phone 8. It has elder brothers like Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 with the same software. The One SV is to come out with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). It may get the new updates later.

Display Screen: The One SV is a bit larger with a 4.3-inch display. It is a super LCD2 capacitive touchscreen with the resolution of 480 x 800 pixels at 217-ppi pixel. The Lumia 620 has a smaller 3.8-inch display with the same resolution, but a better pixel density of 246-ppi. Nokia has used its ClearBlack display technology to make the display perfect.

Processor, Power: The HTC phone is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual core Qualcomm S4 processor. It is boosted by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. The lower-end Lumia phone is also powered by the same chip, but it has only a dual core 1 GHz Krait processor. 512MB RAM and Adreno 305 graphical processor add to the muscle of the handset.

Camera: Both the handsets sport 5MP rear cameras with LED flash and other advanced features. The SV’s camera is designed to capture video at 1080p, while the Lumia 620’s camera can only shoot video at 720p. Going by front camera, the HTC phone has a 1.6MP snapper, while the 620 has only a VGA camera for video chatting.

Connectivity: The budget HTC phone is up with all essential connectivity options. Well, it has GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, HSUPA and 4G LTE for data via network connectivity providers. Other options include Wi-Fi, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and a microUSB port and more. The Lumia 620 drops features like LTE, DLNA and NFC. Also, it has only Bluetooth 3.0, while its competitor has the most advanced version.

Size and Weight: Indeed, the HTC Android handset is slimmer and lighter when compared to its Nokia rival. The device has the dimensions of 128 x 66.9 x 9.2 mm and weight of 122 grams. It is when the 620 measures in at   115.4 x 61.1 x 11mm and weighs at 127 grams.

Price & Availability: Both the devices are recently announced. They are set to come to market in December 2012. As per reports, Nokia has begun to offer the device in some markets for a price of $300 SIM free. Indeed, such a low price will also be the selling point of the One VS.

Verdict
The One SV is a better device in display size, weight, slimness and many other factors. It does also have a better processor and good RAM among other things. So, it will be a tough run for Nokia to win market for its new Lumia 620. But, it depends on a customer’s choice of the software. The 620 and One SV respectively run Windows Phone 8 and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. So they are suitable devices for customers who love particular operating systems.

    there is no meaning to compare it. because there will be huge difference between prices. Lumia 620 is approx 249 usd. and HTC one sv will definitely get a price above 400 usd. imagine desire sv when comes with less features although it is above 20000 rs.only extra has the dual sim slot.otherwise display ram ppi internal space. then how it will come under 20k. whereas lumia 620 have near about 13.5k. so everyone knows that the price plays all role.

    This comparison is useless because both handsets belong to different class. Lumia 620 is much better than HTC 8S which belongs to same class.

    I agree with above two comments. In addition to that i want to add that NOKIA LUMIA 620 powered by WP8 has the Whole MS OFFICE installed in it. Which is a unique feature And i really love this about windows based phones. Android has no such office base so it lack essential feature like MS WORD, PPT, EXCEL, NOTE, etc.
    Also battery life is better in NOKIA LUMIA PHONES.
    So if you are looking for a bussiness phone 620 is perfect for you. Its not what I’m saying just google and you will be convinced.
    Also in terms of browsing speed Lumia 620 leaves SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 and LG optimus phones far behind. Lumia 620 has a download speed of 21 mbps. Almost 3-4 times faster.
    I’m leaving something for more Lumia Lovers to say.

    Besides, Lumia 620 internet browser (version 10 of ie) has already beat several benchmark. Above all the no other mobiles (even the latest of Samsung S3) don’t have the stunning application like Nokia Drive, which gives voice-guiged turn-by-turn navigation even in offline mode. In fact, you don’t need a SIM Card to perform this particular task. I have already tested this apps in another version of Nokia mobile. It works well. In fact, it’s stunning!
