Abu Dhabi, (IANS/WAM) Two organisations in the UAE have donated 100 child car seats to the interior ministry’s Child Protection Centre.
The seats were donated by the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and the General Women’s Union (GWU).
The donation was made by the two groups to promote child safety and create awareness of proper car-seat usage, said Noura Al Suwaidi, director general of the GWU.
“Protecting children is not only one of their (children’s) rights. It is also critical to the process of cognitive, emotional and social development of children and therefore contributes to building the future of the UAE,” she said.
